Perfume History:
The art of making perfumes, called perfumery, was first developed in Egypt as early as before 7th century AD. Later this art was refined and modified by the Roman and Persian civilisations. In Ancient times, components like almonds, herbs, spices, flowers, resin, fragrant oils, aromatic water, etc were used for producing perfumes. In 14th century, the art of perfumery reached Europe and the first modern perfume was produced in 1370 in Hungary at the order of Queen Elizabeth. This first European perfume was named ‘Hungary Water’.

Womens perfumes:

People use perfumes to lend a unique, individual and a pleasant fragrance to themselves. Every person possesses a different nose and liking for different types of smell and fragrances. Some people are even known and identified with their individual perfume smell, which they have been using loyally for a long time. A perfume performs multi task of making a women more appealing, it makes her feel sensuous and confident, are useful in making the essential ‘first impression’ and keeps away the undesirable body odours to prevent you from public embarrassment. They are also used as aphrodisiacs that are to attract or seduce the opposite sex. Deciding and buying a perfume, which suits your personality, identity, and taste can be a confusing task. Perfumes are manufactured in such a way that they blend with a person’ natural body odours and some chemicals to produce a pleasant fragrance, which is different in each case and thus becomes an individual’s signature fragrance. There are different categories of cologne which suits different people. It always helps to know and have knowledge about different types of perfumes before picking one for you or for others.

Types of womens perfume:
· Floral perfume: these are made from the essence of fragrant flowers, like rose, jasmine, etc. that is the reason they are also called flowers perfume. This category is a combination of traditional single floral and floral bouquet categories. Simple and easy to understand women prefers these.
· Woody: they are also known as Chypre. They are most preferred by independent, free spirited, care free and confident women.
· Citrus: they are also called fruity fragrances. They have citrus fragrances and notes in them, generally of lemon, orange, apple, grape, cherry, raspberry, etc. These are generally preferred by many women as they are refreshing, and the fragrance stays with you for a long duration..
· Foody fragrances: also called gourmand, they contain “edible” fragrances. They can be food like fragrances like vanilla. Women who have nurturing qualities and are affectionate prefer them by nature.
Oriental: they are on the heavier scented side of perfumes, and contain essence of spices, musk, etc. they leave a lasting impression and are a favourites amongst sensuous and bold women.
